2025 Dripping Springs ISD School Board Candidates
In light of ALL THREE 2025 DSISD School Board Trustee candidates having voted For putting the May 2025 DSISD Bond Propositions on this May's ballot (Barnard and Quintero) and/or publicly broadcast their support (Jones), CEEDS has again decided against conducting candidate surveys and endorsements/ratings this year.
Remember that this May 2025 DSISD Bond Proposition A is virtually identical to—and an even more expensive repeat of—the November 2022 Bond's Proposition B that was rejected and defeated by the silent majority of our community's voters and taxpayers, who numbered over 10,000 strong and voted 54% Against. In fact, 2022's Proposition B was the most opposed out of all three of November 2022's Bond Propositions—with 10,628 votes Against!
Moreover, we consider DSISD again choosing to hold this Bond Election in May, instead of November, to not only be abhorrent and objectionable political gamesmanship but also a continuation of their politics-of-division to advance DSISD's agenda (DSISD being and meaning the bureaucratic entity, not the students, parents, teachers, and taxpayers it comprises and it's supposed to serve) and pass bond propositions no-matter-the-cost/harm—all of which is inimical to our organization's foundational values.
So not only are all three May 2025 DSISD School Board Trustee candidates' actions to advance the May 2025 DSISD Bond in direct conflict with the November 2022 Bond Election's mandate of and by a majority of our District's voters, but also in direct conflict with CEEDS' commitment to increasing DSISD's fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Indeed, we at CEEDS are disappointed that NONE of these 2025 school board candidates have the political courage to proudly and resoundingly stand up for and with our community's silent majority of fiscal responsibility and good government voters, and as such, we will not evaluate or recommend candidates based on "lesser/least objectionability."
Unfortunately, this means the DSISD School Board will remain a fundamentally unrepresentative and special-interest driven body of RULERS, not REPRESENTATIVES, for the foreseeable future, and a body in which taxpayers and the majority of our community's voters lack meaningful advocates and true representation. THAT also means DSISD's current and future bond proposition(s) will almost certainly continue to be fiscally irresponsible assaults on the pocketbooks of the hardworking taxpayers of our community, and the best interests of students, parents, and teachers!
And while we are not advocating for or against any particular candidate, we will however reiterate the following facts with respect to school board candidates:
- We twice "endorsed" Tricia Quintero in past DSISD School Board Elections (2021 & 2022), and she joined us and our community's silent majority in publicly opposing the November 2022 Bond Package.
- We "conditionally supported" Olivia Barnard in the 2022 DSISD School Board Election.
- We "strongly opposed" former incumbent Ron Jones in the 2020 DSISD School Board Election, who later lost his attempt at fourth term re-election in 2023—a year when we also chose not to evaluate or recommend candidates based on "lesser/least objectionability."
- Based upon Dripping Springs Public School Alliance's propaganda, they are supporting Ron Jones, and their support of his candidacy appears to be targeted at defeating Tricia Quintero and removing her from the School Board. (Dripping Springs Public School Alliance is an organization founded by local Democrat activists in apparent direct opposition to us at CEEDS.)
Once again, in future years—unconflicted, principled, and courageous community members must stand for election and our community must elect those true fiscal-responsibility and taxpayer advocates to the school board, or else this elected body will continue to be dominated by self-serving and special-interest-beholden individuals who continuously disappoint while acting as Rulers, not Representatives.
